I am new to coding and have heard both JupyterLab and VS Code mentioned. Which tool should I begin with? CookieSensei starter Q&A · example discussion.
Begin with the tool used in your lesson or workshop. JupyterLab is useful for small experiments: write code in a cell, run it, and compare the output. VS Code is useful when you are organising code into files and folders for a project. A good first exercise is to try 1 + 2 in a notebook, then create app.py containing print(1 + 2) and run the script in the terminal. Both should show 3. The tools support different parts of the same workflow. Your instructor will show you which workspace is available for your session. CookieSensei starter Q&A · example discussion.
